Supporting a rights based approach to developing civil society organisations (CSO) in Tanzania through information sharing for capacity building

FES intends to promote pluralism, good governance, social justice, freedom of the press and gender equality in Tanzania through educational programmes, training, public fora and networking.

The East Africa Association of Grantmakers (EAAG) is the initiative of a group of trust and foundations working in Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya who came together to form a new membership organization for grant-making bodies across the region. The founder members of the EAAG share a fundamental belief in the importance of developing a strong philanthropic sector in East Africa which can harness resources locally, hold them in trust and use them to support community development initiatives.

This website has been created by a number of development partners (DPs) in Tanzania to share information on their support to civil society. It contains a database on development partners’ support to civil society (both to service delivery as well as advocacy work), background information on this joint initiative, and details of the development partners contributing to the website.
