Uganda Martyrs University (UMU) whose main Campus is located at Nkozi 82 kms west of Kampala, the Capital of Uganda, on the Kampala-Masaka road, was started in October 1993 with 84 students and two academic Departments, namely the Institute of Ethics and Development Studies and the Faculty of Business Administration and Management.

Uganda Christian University is located 23 kilometres from Kampala, in Mukono town, on the the main road to Jinja. It is a private university, chartered and fully accredited by the President of the Republic of Uganda, through the Ministry of Higher Education and Sports, and the National Council for Higher Education.

The Uganda Pentecostal University - originated from The Grotius School of Law and Professional Studies, which started in February 2001. The university has its main campus situated at Kahunga bunyonyi in Fort Portal Municipality, the former Capital of the Western Uganda Province. This is a major Centre of urban growth in mid western Uganda. The University also operates a study centre at Mengo in Kampala, mainly offering facilities for its evening Law classes.

St Lawrence University - Located in the Rubaga, just 5 minutes from Kampala city center, SLAU is uniquely positioned to contribute to, and draw from, the strength and diversity of this country SLAU is ranked as one of the fastest growing education institutes in Uganda. At SLAU there are over 1500 students pursuing graduate courses in various streams.

Nkumba University

Nile University is purposefully designed to be technological, practical, tailored as a service university, to excel in training, educating, mentoring students, researching, and serving the needs of communities at local, national, regional and international levels. Ndejje University pioneered the private university education in Uganda and is currently among the leading privately run universities, Chartered by the Government of Uganda. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Ndejje University has three campuses: The Kampala Campus in the urban setting, at Plot 151, Balintuma Road, just below Mengo Hospital, Kampala. It is ideal for the working class in and around Kampala City. The second and third Campuses (The Main and Lady Irene) are located on 200 acres of land, in a rural setting at Ndejje Hill, Luweero District. This is 42 kilometers (26 miles ) north of Kampala - ideal for quiet and serious study activities.
